Jul 1838), Ellef Johannessen Lien (29 Oct 1840), Ole Johannessen Lien (b. 29 Oct 1841), Lisabeth Johannesdtr Lien (b. 25 July 1833), Berith Johannesdtr Lien (b. 16 Oct 1842), and Anne Maria Johannesdtr Lien (b. 18 Jun 1845).

The Johnson family came to Looking Glass Prairie near Hesper, !A. On 11 Aug 1856 Lisabeth died, the next August, Johannes Pedersen died. They are buried in the Pioneer Cemetery on the Salveson farm south of Hesper. The sons farmed near Hesper for a while then moved on to Faribault Co., MN. Bendt and Ellef both took part in the Indian wars and the Civil War. Ellef stayed in touch with his relatives and friends in Norway and went back to Brekken for a visit about 1890. These sons used the Lien name.

The eldest daughter, Berith, married Andrew Nelson Kjomme in 1859 and Eva Axelsdtr lived with them in Highland Twp. The second daughter Anna Maria married the widower Nels Nelson Kjomme Jr. in 1869.

Charles Horace Rosendahl was born in Glenwood Twp., the son of Gilbert and Pearl (Brynsaas) Rosendahl. Gilbert was born 22 Jul 1898 and Pearl was born 14 May 1901, both in Glenwood Twp. Gilbert and Pearl were married 30 Nov 1921 at Glenwood Lutheran Church. Charles had one brother Merlin Phillip (m. Elsie Moen) and one sister Hazel Catherine (m. Howard Gullickson). Decorah 25 Dec 1921 to Ole and Thorbjorg (Skaftedal) Rohm. Ole was born 7 Oct 1872 at Stord, Norway and Thorbjorg was born 11 Jun 1882 at Granvin, Norway. Ole and Thorbjorg were married 5 Jun 1917. Martha’s brothers and sister are: twins, Anna (m. Leonard Iverson) and Arnold (m. Dolores Brooks); and Martha’s twin brother Marvin (m. Ruth Anderson).

Charles and Martha have 3 children: Marsha Joan, Gregory Charles and Paul Ove. Marsha born at Decorah, graduated from Texas Lutheran College and married Fred Wolf 29 Aug 1970. They had one child Kirstin Marie. Marsha and Fred were divorced in 1978. Marsha married Norwood Band 8 Feb 1992. Norwood is a Captain for US Air Airlines. Kirstin was adopted by Norwood in 1993. The family lives in Dallas, TX. Gregory Charles born at Decorah, graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University at Dayton Beach, FL. He married Pamela Moore 23 Feb 1985. Greg and Pam have 2    daughters: Melody Ann and Lisa Ingrid. Gregory is a Captain for US Air Airlines. They live at Centreville, VA. Paul Ove, born at Sioux City, IA, graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Paul married Jenny Freeburg 31 May 1981. Paul and Jenny have 3    children: Peter Christian and identical twins Thomas Ove and William Zane. Paul is a Captain for American Airlines. They live in Dallas.

Charles and Martha are members of Christ Lutheran Church, Hot Springs Village, AR. Charles belongs to KiwanisClub, Men’s Golf Association, Bridge Club, Scandinavian Club and Norwegian Society of Texas. Charles served in the army during WWII as a paratrooper. He returned to Decorah and was a flight instructor for Dewey Tatro. For a short time he ran Decorah Woodworking Shop. The family moved to Tulsa, OK Apr 1951 where Charles obtained his Instrument Rating at Spartan School of Aeronautics. He also instructed at Spartan until Apr 1952. He then was employed by Mid-Continent as a pilot. They moved to Sioux City and in Aug 1952 Mid-Continent was merged with Braniff International. Charles and Martha lived in Sioux City 10 years and then lived in Minneapolis, MN for 2 1/2 years. Next they moved to Dallas, TX. Charles continued with Braniff until Oct 1984. He served as Cap
